The final round is here. As mentioned before, it is now time for our finalists to rock a live crowd!
FINAL CHALLENGE: CROWD CONTROL
The overall idea is simple - Live at Nerd Invasion, you must rock the crowd to the best of your ability. All of you have performed at least once, some of you several times. Regardless of your experience, it's time for you to reach your current level cap and bring everything you can to the stage. This time, there is no saving vote. No extra credit. No punches pulled. You will perform for the audience and at the end, the audience will scream their applause at who they think most deserves a win, many who have never heard of you before. And that's more fair, isn't it? Because the one musician with the baddest-ass stage presence will gain the love they need to beat this Versus Mode game once and for all!
You will hit the stage between 7:15pm and 8:00pm EST on Friday, November 6th, 2009.
Rules and guidelines for this challenge:
Your set must be at least two tracks long and must NOT exceed 10 minutes in length.
You may NOT do cover songs during your set.
You ARE allowed to have anyone with you on stage to hype the crowd or do your tracks with you. After all, this is entertainment, guests and backup vocals are a part of the entertainment factor. No limitations EXCEPT the artists of Scrub Club. They may NOT join you on stage.
You may use any songs you wish, regardless of subject matter and mood. Use your common sense, though.
You may NOT have the entire vocal tracks on your performance disc. You may have choruses, sound effects, and a minimal amount of special overdubs, but there will be NO lip syncing or karaoke-style rap allowed.
Really come at us with your all. Let your emotions free, get into it, rock the crowd.
You MUST be ready to roll by 6:30pm in the very least. We will do sound checks prior, and we will let you know when those will be.
Hints and tips for this challenge:
Feel free to ask any member of Scrub Club for ideas, advice, and insight during the creation and planning of your live performance this following week.
You ARE allowed to use video playback in the background of your set. You are also allowed to use any props you may wish.
Be yourself, act yourself. We don't need any impostors on this label.
Ask many people to see and hear your plans to critique them and offer many different angles on it.
You have under ten minutes to win over the crowd. Sure, you can pick any songs you wish, but you're going to want to go towards more energetic and easy-to-move-to tracks.
Try to balance the sound from beat to beat on your live mix so you don't have a quiet songs and loud songs. If you've never done this before, seek help in making a performance disc.
Don't just have a Plan B, have a million side plans. Burn your disc at least three times, one or two in each of your bags. Burn them at the lowest speed possible after a clean reboot of your machine. Burn another discs with the mp3s just in case. hell, go all out like I do and upload your tracks to a server just in case you need to grab them later after an epic fail. Be extra careful so that nothing could possibly go wrong on your end.
Once again, after all three artists/groups have performed, the crowd will pick their winner by round of applause. We will then have our new family member(s) inducted into Scrub Club Records.
DON'T FORGET!
I'm proud as hell of all of you, and have been for a few rounds now. I know that there will be no disappointment after this.
Rock their faces off, Scrubs.
